San Francisco-headquartered fintech Ripple has been busy within the final couple of months. The US$10 billion-valued firm, most recognized for its cryptocurrency XRP, is doubling down on Asia.
In March, it snapped up 40% of Malaysia-based remittance and cross-border funds service Tranglo, which has a community spanning over 100 nations. And per week previous to that, it employed seasoned Asia Pacific government Brooks Entwistle to go its regional workplace in Singapore. Entwistle is a 22-year Goldman Sachs veteran who beforehand led Uber’s Southeast Asia enterprise.
For Ripple, the lure of Asia, and significantly Southeast Asia, is obvious.
